The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) says the “CARIFESTA 2021 Logo Competition” has been extended.
The Minister responsible for Culture and National Festivals, Daryll Matthew explains that as a sign of respect during this time of mourning due to the unexpected death of CARIFESTA Director and cultural icon, Vaughn Walter, MBE, the decision to extend the deadline was most appropriate.
He adds, “Vaughn Walter was culture and culture was Vaughn Walter. He lived a life dedicated to the advancement of Antigua and Barbuda’s culture and we are poorer because of his passing. His passion for culture and the arts, and Antigua and Barbuda, is demonstrated by his many years of service to our nation, often times going beyond the call of duty. He will be deeply missed. To his wife Althea, children and immediate family, kindly accept my profound sympathies. May his soul rest in peace”.
The new deadline is set for Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.
